All Players, All Games

Fellow Pargon Players,

I write to you today, not as your leader and Lord Pargon (which I clearly am), but as a friend, adversary and opponent, to mark a historical occasion.  Today, November 15, 2012, shall forever be annually remembered and known as All Players, All Games day.  For it was discovered today, by humble servant Brian Higgins, that all five players in the race for the Pargon Cup championship selected the exact same winners for each of the fourteen NFL games this weekend. 
Never before has anything remotely close to this kind of statistical anomaly occurred in Pargon lore.  True, the championship battles of years past can never be touched, nor surpassed, but these circumstances have been found to be as unusual as a "purple moon", which is the third of three full moons in the same month.  Basically, it's never happened before. 
As Lord Pargon, I, `el P, decree that this date will be noted in the Pargon records and lore, to be celebrated each year on this day going forward.  Bye weeks for some, True Pargon picks for others.  Let the games begin!

Tony Bruno Edge Award for weeks 8 and 9: ME!

That's right Pargon Nation, Tony Bruno has bestowed his beloved Edge award to me, hsjim for weeks 8 and 9. After a legendary sweep in the first-ever Mad Dash Week ("Yeah, yeah, let's all bet against the team that hasn't lost yet") and a win the following week, hsjim has snatched his first TBE awards of the year. Let's all take a moment to recognize that greatness that is hsjim... Ok, that's good enough.

For three straight weeks, hsjimmy has scored a beloved Pargon Point. That's not an easy feat because of all the gamers in this Pargon race. And considering how shitty you did last year in Pargon, this is quite a comeback story. So congratulations to you from Mr. Tony Bruno. He would make a personal call himself to you, but he's at the tavern talking sports with the local retirees.

So far the Jims are in the lead for the Pargon Cup with 3 points each.  Very nicely done thus far.  Also of note, not once has a person lead the overall Zammuto Points lead back to back weeks.  Will Paul change that this week?   Will `el P win his pick this week, going against the Packers?  Lots to watch, enjoy!

For finally popping the Bye Week cherry for all of us and successfully scoring a Pargon Point for his picks of Balt and New England, 'el P is granted the Tony Bruno Edge award for weeks 3 and 4. Three humble servants had the chance to score on their bye weeks, but failed to do so. It took the big balls of 'el P to step up and do it. Congrats 'el P!

A Toast

To my humble slags,

By now, it should be well known that your current Lord Pargon, `el P, is a gracious and wise Lord Pargon.  As a general principle, I do not rule with an iron fist.  Although, when needed, my wrath can be brought down with great vengence, and furrrrious anger, just like Samuel L Jackson's.
Thusly, I would like to make a toast to hs jim jodie.  The reason for this toast is because while I was reviewing our deep Pargon records and lore, I noted that hs jim has won the Zammuto Points title 5 of the last 7 years.  Yes, you read that right.  When your Lord Pargon realizes such things, he has been known to bestow honor upon the scraggling, desperate humble trolls that exist under him, due to my great love of the lowly.  Therefore, Sunday, September 30th shall be known, for this year only, as hs jim jodie day, in recognition of his fine past work.

Week 3 Standings

I have the standings updated for Week 3, Pargon and Zammuto points. I would like to thank hsjim for his work in organizing the Tony Bruno Edge Award. While my weeks 1 and 2 success earned me the first TBE of the season, I undoubtedly don't deserve to keep that stretch going. Being on a "BYE" week, and not being in the Uncle Mike pool, I saw it as a great chance to not have to do the full 16 team picks this week. Clearly that backfired as I earned zero Zammuto points. Perhaps we'll toss it up to a "sophomore slump" and ensure it never happens again.

Week 1 and 2 Tony Bruno Edge Award - hsbrian!

As the career record holder for most all time Tony Bruno Edge awards,I, hsjim, have been given the duty of handing out the TBE award this year by website creator hsbrian. Although traditionally it is a once-a-week honor, this year it will be given out based on the impact over an open period of time. it could be one week if someone really dominates and deserves it or it could be over 4 weeks for being a consistent performer. And at this time, that would be hsbrian who wins the TBE award for weeks 1 AND 2 for going 2-0 over that period, something no one else has done. Congrats and may Tony Bruno, one-time san diego sports radio shockjock and now nationally syndicated fox sports radio host, raise his in-studio glass of scotch for you. hsjim

Your Lord Pargon, `el P, decrees special, unprecedented thanks upon humble servant brian for his tireless work in putting together this site and it's history, which ensures that many future generations of humble servants can remain hopeful to one day suck on the teet of the Pargon Cup himself.  Truly, the Pargon Cup is stronger today than it was when our two forefathers gave birth to this timeless treasure.  Therefore, by the powers bestowed upon me through the Cup of Lord Pargon (awed hush, followed by three second pause), I have declared Saturday Aug 11, 2012, humble servant brian day.  I would expect all to make time available that evening to gather for our team draft, if even for just an hour, and to witness Lord Pargon himself give a bow to humble servant brian.
