The FIRST Tony Bruno Edge Award of 2022 (now 2023)

The first, and perhaps only, TBE Award of 2022 is given to ... ... ... ... ... ... hsbrian!

For all the humble toiling of putting together the website and picks on a weekly basis, hsbrian deserved the inaugural Tony Bruno Edge award of 2022 (now 2023). May the whiskers of Tony Bruno's goatee forever gently brush your cheeks and may his farts be always at your back.

Paul's name gets capitalized today to coincide with his birthday. Enjoy it for a bit, then back to work.

Another Bonus Offseason Tony Bruno Edge Award

Here we are with another offseason TBE award. With less than 1 week remaining in the official 2020-21 season, it might be the last. Still time to earn one or two more though.

Our Lord Pargon Elect Brian Higgins spent a day in the hot sun, toiling humbly to prepare the campground for the epic celebration. 

Before officially passing off the Tony Bruno Edge awarding to hspaul, let this final 2020-21 TBE award ring loud and proud!

Offseason Tony Bruno Edge Award - Bonus

Hear ye hear ye! Gather around the water cooler.

Let's take this moment to extend a bonus Tony Bruno Edge award to former Packers GM Ted Thompson, RIP.

Tony Bruno Edge Award: Season's End

The final Tony Bruno Edge award winner goes to the scrappiest, humblest of them all, mr. "always the bridesmaid never the bride" hsbrian!

Our little Brian has found his way to the top of the Pargon Cup for the first time in his career, this his 10th year in the league. It ends his record for longest title drought to begin a career.

Brian keeps the Zammuto Table as well, making this his 3rd year in a row on top the table. What is his secret? Can he be beaten? Lord Pargon Jim almost did, trailing by just 1 on the final leaderboard.

Tony Bruno Edge Award: Week 16

 As Week 16 approaches, the Tony Bruno Edge Committee has decided to bestow 2 awards this week. Those awards have been won by Lord Pargon Jim and our humble Brian. 

As of this writing, both competitors are tied at 10 apiece in the Pargon points standings, and are separated by just one point in the Zammuto Points Table, with LPJJ ahead 1287-1286. 

It's a true finish for the ages. One more week until the Mad Dash...

Tony Bruno Edge Award: Week 5

A new week, a new Tony Bruno Edge Award.

This winner goes to our current Zammuto points leader, hs jimmy. 5 weeks in, he is in a tight race on top the leaderboard. He has actually been at the top every week of the season thus far, which he previously did in 2016. In that season, he rode the top of the Zammuto leaderboard for the first 13 weeks of the year.

First Tony Bruno Edge of 2020

The 2020 season's first Tony Bruno Edge Award goes to hs pat for getting the second ever perfect Zammuto points. In week 5 of 2006, hs pat earned a perfect 105 of 105 points. This time, he has achieved the same but with the full slate of games, earning Pargon's first ever 136 of 136. 

Pending independent verification, congrats to hs pat for the TBE award.

Another Season in the Books

We have come to a thrilling conclusion to another Pargon season. For the first time since the 2013-2014 seasons, both season-ending awards have been retained by the same people.

HSBrian keeps his Zammuto title and is the 4th person (2007, 2010, 2014) to win the Zammuto Points Title after being behind in the race entering the final week. This is his second championship hardware in his 9 seasons.

LP Jim defended his Lord Pargon Championship, having won the title of LP three times in the last five years. His 6th all-time Lord Pargon puts him 1 behind HSPat, the career leader with 7. LP Jim also has 13 career combined LP/Zammuto awards, the most all-time.

The final week was a battle, with HSPaul and HSBrian having chances to take the top spot. Victories by LPJim in the early games put him ahead for good. HSPaul was able to force a tiebreak playoff in both 2013 and 2014 but couldn't reach it this time.

HSJimmy and HSPat finished out the standings, with HSJimmy doing enough to avoid hosting the Winter Meeting. His point total of 9 ties his worst season ever (2012, 2014). HSPat finishes last in the standings for the first time since 2009 and will host the Winter Meeting.

Pargon 2019 - Tony Bruno Edge Award #2

The second TBEA of the 2019 season goes to an individual who showed perseverance in the face of an uphill battle.  The person seemed to have started the season with a championship hangover.  After failing to score a point in the first two weeks, this person was heading into Bye Week 4.0 down by two with the potential of things spinning out of control quickly.

Instead, this person picked himself up and put on a show for the ages.  Not only did he take 1st place in the Bye Week 4.0, but a gutsy performance by the Bears on Monday night gave him enough team wins to earn the first ever Bye Week bonus point.

Unfortunately for the rest of the league, this person didn't stop there.  He followed up this historic performance with back-to-back wins against hsBrian and hsPat.  In a three week span, this person turned a two point deficit in the standings into a two point first place lead.

For his display of perseverance in the face of adversity, I present the second Tony Bruno Edge Award to LP.  May we all learn from your example.

Near Miss on Pargon Rare Achievement

With last night's Kansas City upset loss (which all five of us picked, including three people at 13 points), we narrowly missed on an achievement that has never happened.

In the post-2011 era, when Brian and Jimmy joined the league, there has never been a week* in which all 5 players earned at least 1 Pargon point. Kansas City winning would have given Brian a 3-rule point and guaranteed that everyone earned 1 point for the week.

Alas, the rare achievement remains untouched.

Pargon 2019 - Tony Bruno Edge Award #1

The first TBEA of the 2019 season goes to a truly deserving individual.  This person jumped out to a strong start getting their first point in week 1 and currently sitting tied for second place.  This person also is leading the Zammuto points total and has an active streak of leading the Zammuto points of 16 weeks.  And while these strong performances are great, these are not the reason for earning this TBEA. 

For your dedicated work in bringing the Pargon website to the next level, I present the first Tony Bruno Edge Award to hsBrian.  The Pargon website was always a marvel, however the impact of the recent addition of the Dashboard is hard to capture with words alone. 

The inventions of the wheel, electricity, the assembly line, and cortisone shots.  These have all advances society in ways beyond comprehension.  The same can be said about the Pargon Dashboard.  Your one stop shop for all things Pargon.
