12/3/2015 Tony Bruno Edge Award

Well its been a few weeks since the last TBE award was given out, but this week, the award will be going to a first time winner.  The fourth Tony Bruno Edge award for the 2015 season goes to the ever cruel Pargon gods.

Just when you think you have a chance to run away with it, the Pargon gods bring you back down to earth (hsPaul, hsBrian and hsJimmy all losing 3 of their last 4).  And just when things look the darkest, the Pargon gods bring the dawn (hsJim and LP each winning 3 of their last 4).

Here we sit heading into week 13 with a mere 1 Pargon point separating first place from last place.  With five weeks remaining, include what is shaping up to be a historic Mad Dash week 17, everything is on the table, we must scrape and claw for each victory, and nothing should be taken for granted.

11/5/2015 Tony Bruno Edge Award

Wow, I mean it does not get any more obvious than this, right?  After taking almost no thought in making this decision, the third Tony Bruno Edge award for the 2015 Pargon season goes to hsPaul.

Paul came into week 8 in last place with only 2 Pargon points (and one of those was from a 3-rule!).  Well that didn't stop Paul.  Not only did our very own Paul sweep his mad-dash week opponents, but he also picked up his second 3-rule of the season.  This resulted in Paul going from last place to tied for first.  It does not end there though.  Not to be overlooked is this historical accomplishment of being the first Pargon player to accumulate 5 Pargon points in one week.  A feat that will be remember in Pargon lore for years to come.

It started as just another normal day, but by the end of it, had become quite noteworthy.  For on THIS DAY, Lord Pargon himself was awoken out of a deep slumber, having been forcefully slapped awake by the very humble hand of humble servant paul.  It happened like this:
LP was gracious enough to invite a humble drag such as paul mrotek to his home for food, drink and merriment.  Soon after arrival, it was decided LP and his humble gimp would make their Pargon pick in person.  LP laid out on his grand kitchen island, the five differences they had for the week.  LP also laid out, mistakenly, his own notes and rankings for the five differences.  LP chose to use the Royal Restroom before making the pick.  Once the Royal Pee-Dots were in place, LP left the RR and returned to the master's kitchen, only to find humble servant paul mrotek, that's MROTEK, with a sly grin on his face.  LP immediately saw his own notes lying naked and afraid on the table, and right away questioned hs paul to see if he had made the unwise choice to study Lord Pargon's own secret notes.  Upon questioning, hs paul was unable to look LP directly in the eyes, and begot himself a wicked case of the giggles.  Needless to say, both LP and one of his humble servants found themselves in an awkward moment where the master knew that the stable hand had cheated him.  Master called out slave, slave did not deny.  It was then that LP was awoken from his 2015 slumber.  It's one thing to be LP4 and sleepwalk through your picks, but the moment I was taken advantage of... curse the day ladies.  And be sure to thank hs paul edward lotar mrotek, for he will be solely responsible for LPV.   Dance, humble turds...dance.

An unorthodox winner this week, but the second Tone Bruno Edge award for the 2015 Pargon season is going out to your current 4x defending champ, LP Pat.

After winning your first week match-up, you have lost four straight weeks and find yourself in sole possession of last place with one point.  You have successfully lured the rest of us into a false sense of security and have set yourself up for a historic comeback en route to your 5th straight championship.  And for that, we salute you.

A well deserved congrats goes out to the winner of the first Tony Bruno Edge Award for the 2015 Pargon season.

hsBrian has displayed his poise and confidence in jumping out to a 3-0 start, earning him sole possession at the top of the leader board.  hsBrian's versatility is a large reason he had made it to this juncture.   Through only three weeks, hsBrian has already bested the current LP, last year's winter meetings host, and secured his first bye week point.

Birthday Wishes to HS Jim Jodie

Today we celebrate the birth of HS Jim Jodie.

A Pargon Warrior from the very beginning, Jim has seen it all: joy, triumph, horror, sadness, success, failure, compassion, and sportsmanship. His career so far has been one worth celebrating. We remain in awe of the battles he continues to fight, demonstrating year after year what it takes to be a champion.

Nothing but greatness lies ahead for this man. I'm reminded of an ancient proverb: "you can take Jodie from the Pargon streets, but you can't take the Pargon streets from Jodie."

A true humble hero, we celebrate you today. Many Pargon wars wage ahead. We look forward to fighting together.
