LP TO ANNOUNCE NEW TONY BRUNO EDGE AWARD WINNER

With the turn of the calendar to December, it's time for Lord Pargon to recognize the newest winner of the Tony Bruno Edge Award, and that would be none other than humble servant Paul Mrotek

(pause to allow for applause to quiet down).  If you have been working extra shifts in my fields and my stables, you may not have noticed that humble servant Paul has clawed his way back into one point off the lead.  He has gained three points in the last four weeks.  While hs jim is off playing with his (humble) dingy, hs Paul has been studying Pargon film and eating his curds and whey.  LP notices these things.  That's why LP has been LP for so long that he doesn't remember what it's like not to be LP.  One person who does remember what it's like to be LP is hs Paul, and it's clear he is serious about becoming Lord Pargon again.  You have my attention humble Paul, you have my attention.

The events that led to 10.26.14

Foreward:  I am inserting this foreward into my previously composed posting regarding this.  LP failed to meet the deadline laid out, due to computer problems on my 2003 desk top.  On 11/14, I could not figure out how to upload an image, so I downloaded some free screen-snip software so I could at least cut and paste the image of LP into my message.  As that program downloaded, so did all this other crap.  My computer has been a mess for three days now.  Just now getting it back online after uninstalling all kinds of crap.  My sincerest apologies.  *as if to prove my point, it all just crashed again, thank gosh for the "restore" option or I'd be writing this for a third time.

THE EVENTS THAT LED TO 10.26.14
On or about 10/23/14, I was asked by Mrs LP if I could spare some time early-mid afternoon Sunday to meet up with her family for her and Brittany's combined birthday gathering.  I said yes, knowing that afterward, I would head to the Pargon Mid Season Dash Bash.  One day later, LP was asked if I minded if the family got together at D & B's.  I thought it over briefly, and with a touch of uneasiness I said that would be fine.  That was LP's fateful mistake.  Right there in black and white.   Fast forward to the day of, 10.26.14, I met up at D & B's with the boys from Pargon, and also with my in-laws for birthday celebrating.  LP broke Pargon code with his decisions that day.  He has since learned the error of his ways and begs all of humble Pargon nation to lower their LP mandatory flags to half mast, and take an hour off early from the fields tomorrow.   For today, Pargon nation shakes their heads in silence.

Tony Bruno Edge Award Winner

Humble People of Pargon,

As you recall, humble servant Brian was awarded the first of four, somewhat-evenly spaced Tony Bruno Edge awards earlier in the year after he got off to a solid start, showing the poise of a true Pargon veteran.  LP saw it fit to bestow this honor on him.  As a big fuck you, he showed his gratitude by tanking the last four-five weeks, finding himself buried in the Pargon basement as we embark on the meat of the schedule.  Which brings us to the second bestowement of the TBE award for 2014, which goes to Lord Pargon himself.  It's much like when the richest of Hollywood gather in $30,000 outfits to give themselves awards and praise at the Oscars.  But there can be no denying of this award.  Since hs Brian was given this award, LPx3 has beaten every single opponent on his schedule, including a mad dash sweep, to take the lead, with his only blemish a bye week non-point.  That's five straight single-pick weeks plus the full MD sweep.  I'd be a fool to give the TBE award to anyone else for this second installment.  I would also be a fool to think that I have won anything yet.  We all know Pargon can turn on a dime and humble even the most historic of LP's, let alone mere humble mortals.  So, while LP spent his week in court and lost, he has put together an epic run to seize the lead.  Therefore, LP, enjoy also being the current Tony Bruno Edge holder.

Several weeks ago, your three time defending Lord Pargon was .  LP3 was at the bottom, and the talk was all about the young humble servants on the rise.  We sit here today, in week 7, after LP3 just completed a four week sweep against all humble servants, and has risen to a first-place tie.  Humbly.... it's on.

The design of the current Pargon Standings page has been updated, at the request of LP. It is a slimmer look that takes up less space vertically on the page. Check it out.

Mad Dash Week

Another great set of games this weekend! I'll have the website updated tomorrow.

Next week is Week 7, and following that is Mad Dash Week. Just like the last two years of Mad Dash, you'll email me your picks, and I'll send out a handy guide with all your differences. It'll be important to get your picks in early that week.

Remember that I was hoping to get some cool stuff from you guys, photos and such, by Mad Dash Week. I believe there was an LP decree a while back. Email is my preferred method.

The Honorable Lord Pargon

On this, the anniversary of the day of his birth, we take a moment to honor the great Lord Pargon Pat. The Green Bay Packers will be dedicating their performance tonight in your name. Rejoice! 

IT'S BAAAAAACK

The Tony Bruno Edge award.   As a refresher, the Tony Bruno Edge award is named after famed, noted sports personality Tony Bruno.  It's a recognition of exemplary performance in Pargon, but not just numbers. It reflects and attitude and insistence on persevering and battle.  It is not handed out lightly.
Without further ado, as Lord Pargon, I hereby bestow upon humble servant brian higgins, the First Quarter 2014 Tony Bruno Edge award for your deft picks, daring courage and football acumen.
It pleases your Lord to see the hunger in this young humble servant.  He can smell the throne (I know this because that one time when I farted, I let hs brian smell the coveted LP fart), but does he have the stamina to maintain?   Time will tell.

Congrats on the inauguration of the new Pargon Season!

The 13th year of the Pargon Cup kicked off with the annual drafting of the bye week teams. The managers met at Evolution to prepare for the task at hand. This will be an intense journey, but one that will make us stronger having finished. We look forward to competing once again.
